Dawn on Kiawah Marsh

On a painting retreat at the Kiawah river community, I jump out of bed before sunrise and before the 1st cup of coffee, would venture out still in my pj's to catch the sun as it creeps onto the marsh. 
This 12x12x1.5 oil painting captures a moment in time as the sun slowly transitioned over the river inlet, brightening the variety of greens in the marsh grasses.
